Marcel Koper has over 20 year’s experience in the helping professions in a vast array of settings including counselling, management, teaching, supervision, training, or in critical incident management and support. In all of his work he emphasizes the importance of self-care and attending to our own mental health.
His counselling experience is with young people, adults and couples, with additional expertise in online counselling. His work as a supervisor has been with health professionals and people involved in leadership and workplace settings.
He spent 10 years of his working life working in the drug and alcohol arena and thus understands the nexus of mental health and drug and alcohol concerns. His counselling approach is sensitive to where people are at in their life journey, their spiritual journey and people can have the option to explore and deal with deeper more sensitive areas involving personal development, abuse, trauma and family of origin experiences.
He has worked in Critical Incident management support for 15 years including support after major bushfires, accidents and similar disasters. He has also been an accomplished trainer and educator in both academic settings and workplace settings.
