Marcel conducted his Masters (Social Work) thesis on the subject matter of ‘the effectiveness of supervision’ and feels passionate about every health care professionals’, or indeed anyone involved in caring for others’, need for supervision

His work experience across both health professional settings such as counselling, drugs and alcohol, community health and universities combined with his experience in ministry, have guided his career in caring for those health professionals seeking a spiritual element to their experience of supervision, or those who are involved in Christian ministry.

He is a trained gestalt therapist and this helps his style of supervision by way of increasing peoples insight and self-awareness but is ultimately very relational, down to earth, supportive and warm. He currently supervises Catholic priests, youth leaders, chaplains (in many settings), ministers, pastoral care workers as well as other health professionals.

It is his belief that if you can care for one person well, then you are not only preventing burnout, but you are supporting the hundreds of people that one person may help/ inspire/ care for / support/ guide/ teach/ lead.

In recent years he has developed and ran postgraduate courses in supervision, and also conducts smaller scale supervision training for specialist groups. He is available for individual supervision, group supervision and will provide in-house training and consultancy to organisations and agencies.

He has also co-founded a cross denominational service called The Centre of Supervision, and has also had a guiding hand in establishing Habitat Supervision Space- a service dedicated to caring for those who are active in Christian ministry. For further information- please press this link to go to
